Welcome to our October Permanews! Spring is here! Spring is a time for growth and blossoming and with the new committee set to be voted in at the AGM this week, Permaculture Noosa will continue to grow and blossom!

This month we were extremely grateful to have Leonie Shanahan as our guest speaker at club night. Leonie is a much-loved member of Permaculture Noosa, has been a member for 20 years and has held many different positions – including president. She’s been quiet recently as she recovered from lymes disease and it was wonderful to hear she’s feeling so much better these days. Leonie inspired us all with her story of community. It was a wonderful reminder of just how special our club is and how we can rally during tough times. It was empowering to hear Leonie’s call to arms – Permaculture has the answers and we can rebuild the world as we want it to be. That starts in our community and with Permaculture Noosa because if we don’t design it, someone else will. It was so inspiring we had 3 people express interest in joining the committee after hearing Leonie speak! If you would like information about joining the committee, please email [email protected]

At club night we also announced that unfortunately we had to postpone our quiz night and silent auction fundraiser. Thank you to all those who purchased a ticket and the fabulous local businesses who made donations. It was not a decision we made lightly, and quiz night will be back next year – bigger and better!

See you at our next event – Club Day at the Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens, Sunday 17 Oct, from 9am!
