If you visited us at the Queensland Garden Expo this past weekend, you’ll have noticed how popular our seed bank was. We sold hundreds of packets of seeds lovingly grown, harvested, dried and packed by our volunteers. But the coordination, and most of the work, was done by our tireless Seed Savers Coordinator, Maria Sturre. We all extend our thanks and appreciation for the great job she did.
But Maria needs more help to replenish our stocks. If you can offer even a small amount of time, please join her at the next Seed Savers meetings at the Cooroy Library (Saturday 24 and Saturday 31 July from 9.30 to 11.30 am), or email Maria for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our seed bank is a vital part of Permaculture Noosa. Not only does it provide a wonderful boost to our fundraising, which is needed to keep our organisation operating, but members and the public really appreciate the opportunity to purchase good quality, organically grown, open-pollinated seeds, many of which are heirloom varieties, and all grown locally, so suited to our subtropical conditions.
