Next month we will be electing our new committee for 2020/21.

With the changes to our Constitution introduced last year, the positions of President and Treasurer will be declared vacant at our AGM, as well as 6 ordinary committee member positions.

We have already received nominations for President and Treasurer, as well as 3 nominations for the remaining 6 positions as committee members. And because the nomination for President comes from our current Vice President, we will also be seeking to fill the position of Vice President. All nominations will be published on October 5, two weeks prior to the AGM, and voting, if necessary, will take place at the AGM on Sunday 18 October.

The committee is extremely active throughout the year – a position on the committee involves a lot more than just turning up to a monthly meeting. But the rewards are enormous, and never more so than next year, when we see our Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens truly become the hub of Permaculture Noosa. There will be more workshops, demonstrations and social events because of our new shelter – it will be a very exciting time for the committee, our members and the local community. So if you are enthusiastic and willing to help out, and wish to work with a dynamic and dedicated team, we’d love to hear from you.

To be eligible to nominate for our committee, you must be a current financial member of Permaculture Noosa. You will need to complete a nomination form (also signed by a nominator and seconder) and email it to secretary@permaculturenoosa.com.au by Sunday 4 October. Each position runs for a two-year term

Changes to our AGM for 2020

This year sees some necessary changes to our AGM, due to the fact that we are not currently holding Club Nights. We have now scheduled the Annual General Meeting for Sunday 18 October at the Cooroy Community Permaculture Gardens, 26 Emerald Street, Cooroy. Our Club Day will commence at 9.00 am with our Seed Savers meeting, plant and seed sales, our free harvest swap, and a guest speaker at 11.00 am. These will be followed at 11.30 by our AGM, which will see a very brief report from our outgoing President, the 2019/20 Financial Report, and the election of our new committee. We hope to see you there.
