Floating Land: at the edge of ideas marks the 11th iteration of Australia’s premier art in the environment event.

Reflecting Noosa’s national and international reputation as a community and a place that foregrounds care for and engagement with the natural environment, Floating Land focusses on the temporary installation of artworks that engage and collaborate with the special and spectacular spaces in which they are presented.

Conceived in 2001 as a biennial outdoor sculptural program, Floating Land: at the edge of ideas will have a presence across two key anchor sites in 2021 – Lake Cootharaba at Boreen Point and the award winning Park Road Boardwalk, winding its way along Noosa’s breathtaking coastline, from Little Cove to Noosa National Park.

Floating Land Biennale is presented as a feature event of Noosa Regional Gallery’s larger artistic program.

Visitors will be invited to experience thoughtful, challenging and environmentally aware works that engage sensitively with these special and spectacular spaces.
